Professional-grade logistics tools. Free, and built by someone who uses them.
Twenty years in freight — from the warehouse floor to regional management, now also CTO at Auriga Intelligence. I build the tools I found missing in the industry, and publish field notes along the way.
Tools
Free logistics tools
Reference-grade calculators for transport professionals: market conventions made explicit, auditable math and shareable URL state.
Chargeable weight calculator
Compare gross and volumetric weight under each mode’s convention — selectable and editable — and get an auditable chargeable weight: air, express, sea LCL (with W/M minimum) and road by density and by loading metres (LDM).
- Air (IATA 1:6000)
- — kg
- Road (333 kg/m³)
- — kg
CMR deadlines calculator
Calculate the reservation and limitation deadlines of a road transport claim under the CMR Convention (arts. 30 and 32): from the delivery date, with configurable non-working days, auditable math and calendar export of every deadline.
Non-apparent loss or damage

Logistics unit converter
Fast conversions between the metric and imperial units that show up daily in quotations, packing lists and B/Ls: length, weight, volume and density.

Incoterms® 2020 — costs & risks
Pick a rule and see who bears each cost — from packaging to final unloading — and where risk passes from seller to buyer. The four maritime rules (FAS, FOB, CFR, CIF) are flagged.
Risk transfer
Risk passes to the buyer once the goods are on board the vessel at the port of shipment.
Driving & rest hours
Enter the driving done so far and see how much time remains within every Regulation (EC) 561/2006 limit — mandatory break, daily, weekly and fortnightly caps — plus the daily rest due.
- Until the 45-min break (Art. 7)
- —
- Left today — 9 h limit (Art. 6.1)
- —
Load planner
Enter your boxes or pallets and get a deterministic load plan: piece-by-piece placement, volume and weight utilization, centre of gravity per the CTU Code, VGM (SOLAS) and an orientative country weight-limit check. Everything is computed in your browser.
- Pieces
- 20
- Volume
- 36%
Tools API
Every tool on this site can also be called over HTTP GET: same calculation engine, JSON response, no signup, no API key and nothing stored. Built for light integrations, spreadsheets and scripts.

All notes →How to plan a container load: cubing, CoG, VGM and weight limits
Dividing volumes is not cubing: planning a load takes real geometry, centre of gravity (CTU Code), SOLAS VGM and the legal road weight — which is not the container’s max gross.
Driving and rest times: Regulation 561/2006 made clear
The EU driving and rest rules the tachograph enforces: 4.5 hours and a 45-minute break, 9 daily hours, 56 weekly, 90 per fortnight, and the 11-hour and 45-hour rests.
Incoterms 2020: who pays what and where risk transfers
The 11 Incoterms 2020 rules explained for real operations: costs, risk, insurance and the mistakes that cost the most money (EXW on export, FOB with containers, DDP without thinking about VAT).
