The regular weekly rest is 45 consecutive hours. It may be reduced to 24 hours, but the missing hours must be compensated in one block, attached to another rest, before the end of the third following week. A weekly rest must start no later than six 24-hour periods after the previous one.
The regular weekly rest may not be taken in the vehicle cab. For the forwarder this means a driver on a long route needs, every week, a place to sleep outside the truck, and the week’s planning must foresee where and when the stop happens.
